We started this journey many years ago, knowing that our daughter was waiting for us somewhere in China. That journey began in 2004, but after a setback healthwise, we had to pull out, thinking our hopes were dashed forever. Then in late 2005, with renewed purpose and strength we again began the process of our adoption. We were logged into China March 28th, 2006, and were matched with our Dear Daughter, October 13th, 2009. GOTCHA 12/14/09 Forever Ours 12/15/09

Dave and I took a walk with Baylon, after the others went to do whatever. We walked down some side streets, and these are a glimpse at the local life. Laundry hangs everywhere to dry, including public lamp posts, and dried meat hangs just about everywhere as well.

I'm especially interested in the children.......
The children are literally potty trained somewhere about 3 months of age, at least they start then. They wear what's called "split" pants, and this little girl, and others I've seen have a type of cape, I'll call it, as their bottoms are open for easy access to potty training, and this "cape", allows for modesty. That's just how I see it.
Everyone we've met has been wonderfully nice and seemingly caring.

Tomorrow, we fly to Guangzhou, and stay at the infamous White Swan Hotel.
We are on the second half of our trip, and can't believe that it's been a week since we left. Actually it does seem a lot longer. This journey has been quite taxing, as there is so much stress, and uncertainty........ numerous procedures, and paperwork........ then you get the baby's and there is that initial shock and settling in period for both parents and infants/toddlers. Constant running, and schedules...... hopefully once we hit Guangzhou, things might slow down a bit.
At least the weather should cooperate, as we head South, and the temp. should increase to mid seventies, at least.

I look forward to the White Swan, as I've read, perused blogs, and fantasized about this beautiful hotel. It is the final step in the entire process. The White Swan should be decked out spectacularly for Christmas.

Will email from sunny, warm Guangzhou soon ! Our flight leaves in the Evening. Ni Hao, Shelley, Dave and beautiful Baylon.
