We started this journey many years ago, knowing that our daughter was waiting for us somewhere in China. That journey began in 2004, but after a setback healthwise, we had to pull out, thinking our hopes were dashed forever. Then in late 2005, with renewed purpose and strength we again began the process of our adoption. We were logged into China March 28th, 2006, and were matched with our Dear Daughter, October 13th, 2009. GOTCHA 12/14/09 Forever Ours 12/15/09

Now Baylon was actually highjacked today.... this little boy, muscled his way in between me and Dave, and literally took Baylon away from us. We figure, he's getting a jump on the gender imbalance, and was trying to wisk her away....... we have this one on video, and it's hysterical, might have to add that one in.

In China, when American's adopt, the locals come out to inspect whether you are doing a good job. Most important is the baby's clothing, and proper coverage. Now, mind you, these folks do not have heat, and bundle up their young in what I think are mummy suits. So, it's very common for the locals to approach adoptive parents, inspect the baby, TOUCH the baby, and then either give thumbs up, (literally), or chastise you ..... These people came out and gave us the thumbs up ! In the adoption community, they are known as the "clothing" police.
